
D. Heung
and Associates is primarily an architectural,
planning and development consultancy firm established
in Hong Kong in 1979 by Mr. Daniel C.K. Heung,
an American Architect. Projects undertaken
include medical, educational and religious institutions,
factories, hotels, commercial, and residential
buildings. Over the years the firm has gained
extensive experience in negotiations with various
Government Departments, through the planning,
design and construction of such projects.
Since
1982 the firm has been involved in numerable
projects in China, including hotels, offices
and multi-functional buildings, with appointments
coming from private investors from Hong Kong
and overseas, as well as Government agencies
from China and Canada. The firm also has strong
involvement in urban and rural planning, interior
design, and project management.
Mr. Heung is an active participant in public service. Since 1988, he was appointed as Executive Councilor of N.T. Heung Yee Kuk. He also serves in government Statutory Advisory Committees, being appointed member of the Town Planning Board, member of Rural Improvement and Planning Strategy Steering Group, member of Land & Building Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Special Committee on the Cleaning up of Black Spots in the New Territories. At present, he is serving as member of Committee on Social Development and Quality of Life of the Commission on Strategic Development, Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, URA Kwun Tong District Advisory Committee, Antiquities Advisory Board and the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries. As well as Chairman of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education.
In
1997, the firm was included in the approved
list of architects in the following public /
private bodies: Architectural Services Department,
Hong Kong Housing Society, Hong Kong Housing
Authority, Hospital Authority, Kowloon-Canton
Railway Corporation and MTR Corporation. In
May 1998, the firm has acquired the certification
of ISO 9001 by HKQAA with the accreditation
also by the China National Accreditation of
Certified Registrars.
